About us

Phulbani, the administrative headquarters of Kandhamal district, Odisha is a small, but beautiful town in the lap of divine nature. Surrounded all around with sky scraping hills under the canopy of immaculate blue sky. It is often known for its pollution free atmosphere and peace loving people. River Pila Salunki encircles the town with a number of temples and green forests on its bank. To be precise, Phulbani is a modern township with abundant natural beauty.

Though the township draws its history in the British era, the modern township was established in the year 1961 as a Notified Area Council, Later upgraded to a Municipality in the year 2008. Now it is administered under a council of 13 members with a population of 37,319 as per 2013 Census.

Our endeavour to keep its beauty intact and provide all residents with all possible basic necessities and modern amenities has remained the top priority. Phulbani, as a well-known is one of the most beautiful towns of Odisha. Its enchanting greenery sparkles new life in the air. As the administrative head of the township it has always been my top priority to keep this up amidst all developments. In the last few years the municipality has provided a lot of modern amenities to its citizens, spreading from sanitation, electrification to beautification of the town. The process is on; and let us hopes for more. I express my gratitude towards the people of Phulbani for their cooperation and hope to continue this ever and ever.
